Anchor Bolt

5/16-inch steel anchors have a pointed tip for easy penetration. Made from quality steel, they are durable and not easily broken. They are used to secure screws and nuts to objects with low flexibility. Anchors come in various types with different properties and applications; therefore, choosing the right anchor for the job is important.

Usage

This type of steel anchor is suitable for indoor use and applications requiring extra heavy load bearing. Examples include installing support posts on concrete garage floors or securing ceilings for hanging chandeliers. When a screw, nut, or bolt is tightened, the two small prongs on the sides gradually expand and grip the wall.

Steel Anchor Installation Guide
To ensure the strongest and safest possible bond, follow these steps:

1. Preparing the drilling hole (Drilling)
  • Choose Concrete drill bits Use a drill bit the same size as the anchor sleeve (for 5/16-inch anchors, use the same size drill bit or as indicated on the packaging).
  • Drill the hole slightly deeper than the anchor's length to ensure the anchor can be seated flush with the surface.

2. Clean the drilled hole
  • Use a brush or compressed air to remove all dust and cement debris from the drilled hole, as any remaining dust will prevent the anchor from gripping effectively.
3. Insertion
  • Install the washer and nut onto the anchor shaft, leaving a sufficient amount of the nut exposed at the end of the shaft.
  • Insert the steel anchor into the drilled hole. If the hole is tight, gently tap it with a hammer until the anchor sleeve is flush with the surface of the material.

4. Tightening
  • Use a wrench to tighten the nut clockwise.
  • As the nut is tightened, the expansion cone is drawn into the sleeve is drawn into the sleeve, causing it to expand and press tightly against the walls of the drilled hole.

5. Final Check
  • Tighten until it feels snug and the material being fastened is firmly in place, without any wobbling.

💡 Further instructions:
  • Indoor activities: Rainbow zinc-plated steel anchors are ideal for indoor or sheltered applications requiring high strength.
  • Installation distance: Do not drill holes too close to the edge of the concrete, as the expansion force of the anchor may cause the concrete to crack or chip. [8
