C150 Purlin

C150 Purlin-Stud Beam (อเส) is a structural component of a roof that rests on top of the columns. Similar to a beam, it serves to connect and brace the roof columns and transfer the load from the roof structure to the columns. Generally, purlins are placed along the outer edges of the columns, specifically on the sloping sides of the roof. Purlins can be constructed from various materials including reinforced concrete, steel , C-channel steel, or wood, depending on the structural requirements. However, steel or reinforced concrete purlins are most commonly used. Both types have their own advantages and disadvantages. The choice of purlin depends on the architect and engineer's assessment of which type is best suited to the house's design and structure.

C150 Steel Purlin

  1. C means it has the shape of the letter C.
  2. 150 is the width of the steel.
  3. 1.90 mm is the thickness of the steel.

C150 Purlins (อเส) has become very popular because it is lightweight compared to reinforced concrete purlins and can be installed quickly, thus reducinginstallation construction time. This is largely due to the typical installation of steel purlins on reinforced concrete columns. installation of steel purlins on reinforced concrete columns. To connect it to the steel purlin again, and once the steel purlin is welded to secure the column tops, the rafters can be welded to the steel purlin. Alternatively, if it's a galvanized roof structure, it can be installed by using screws to fasten it to the steel purlin using standard fittings.

However, in areas with strong winds, steel roof purlins may vibrate. Therefore, the design and calculations should be done by an engineer, with strict on-site construction supervision, especially meticulous welding at every stage and applying rust-proof paint. Strict quality control of the steel used is also crucial.
